Manufacturing Change Notice (MCN #002)Product: Wright Fan 120 mmSubsystem: Fan Assembly (Mechanical Interface & Fastening)Category: Configuration ManagementStatus: In ProductionEffective Date: January 2026
Summary
Wright One has implemented formal design version control and configuration management for the Wright Fan 120 mm platform.
This change establishes a controlled mechanical interface standard across fan assemblies to ensure that all future deployed systems operate under consistent design conditions, enabling reliable module-level upgrades and simplified replacement of serviceable components.
This update is now active in production.
Rationale
As Wright One scales deployment volume and production capacity, maintaining mechanical consistency across generations of deployed hardware becomes critical to long-term serviceability and system reliability.
Without version control, incremental design changes can unintentionally increase complexity during refurbishment, replacement, or future upgrades.
This Manufacturing Change Notice formalizes a design freeze and version-controlled interface standard to ensure:
- compatibility across deployed fan generations, and
- predictable service behavior at scale.
Manufacturing Change Implemented
Wright One has implemented the following changes:
- Formal design freeze on fan-case mechanical interfaces
- Version-controlled fastener and mounting specifications
- Standardized mechanical geometry to support modular replacement
- Alignment of inlet impeller, outlet impeller, and bearing interfaces across production lots
These updates ensure that impeller assemblies and bearing modules can be swapped consistently across compatible fan versions without introducing fitment or alignment risk.
The design change includes updated fastening standards (e.g., fastener sizing and engagement depth) to improve repeatability during assembly and service.
All changes are now incorporated into active production.
Why This Matters for Reliability & Service
Version control enables Wright One to:
- maintain consistent airflow geometry across generations,
- simplify refurbishment and replacement workflows, and
- introduce future component improvements without disrupting deployed systems.
For customers, this means faster service response, fewer edge cases during replacement, and long-term upgrade compatibility as the platform evolves.
Applicability
- New units:All Wright Fan 120 mm units produced after the effective date follow the version-controlled design standard.
- Previously deployed units:Existing units remain fully supported under Wright One’s subscription-based service program.
Where applicable, replacement components will conform to the standardized interface to maintain compatibility.
No customer action is required.
Customer Impact
This change does not affect airflow performance, electrical characteristics, or operating behavior.
It improves long-term serviceability and ensures that future replacement or upgrade modules integrate cleanly with deployed systems.
Customers are not required to track versions, manage compatibility, or handle retrofit decisions.
Notes
This Manufacturing Change Notice follows Wright One’s Reliability & Manufacturing Transparency Charter and reflects a completed, production-released configuration management update.
Future Manufacturing Change Notices will reference versioned subsystems where applicable.
